Windsurfing Festival--A Great Success
Thank you to all that joined us for a beautiful weekend on Biscayne Bay. The Windsurfing Demos were fantastic and enjoyed tremendously. The Beginner's Clinic was well attended and extremely informative. The friendship was great. The weather, although forecasted to be rainy, was perfect (what else is new). www.miamiwindsurfing.com did a great job of organizing the entire event.

Miami Windsurfing Festival--A Great Day for Watersports on Biscayne Bay
The event was co-hosted by Sailboards Miami and Miami Windsurfing.com. Approximately 100 windsurfers and their families came to the beach on Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd to participate in this great community festival. Sailors took advantage of 2008-2009 windsurfing equipment demos by KA sails, Neil Pryde sails, and JP Boards. Families and children of all ages enjoyed the beginners' clinic and lessons hosted by Ovidio DeLeon, US Master Instructor and owner of Sailboards Miami.

Meanwhile more advanced sailors were in the water testing the new equipment. Other sponsors helped shape this event with interesting and refreshing products including Steaz energy drink, Max Muscles Nutrition Products, and Diabeskin moisturizing cream. Their sponsorship helped create a beautiful day at the beach. Welcome to the new members of South Florida Windsurfing Association--your support keeps the windsurfing community in South Florida grow stronger. Stay tuned for more pictures and reports. See you at the beach!

Summer Weather & Watersports
Summer is in full force. Our beach location is ideal for cooling down due to our consistent sea breezes. Do note that when rain is in the forecast it tends to be in the late afternoon and usually passes through quite quickly. Rain builds up over the Everglades and then makes its way to sea. Hence, consider making your plans for earlier in the day or, take a look at the weather radar to track the storms. Last weekend, for example, we had rain from 3:30 until 4:00 and then it was beautiful and clear for hours. FYI, for windsurfers, around 2:00 seems to be a great time for the best wind.
